Pertussis Information The Tdap vaccine, (the adult vaccine that contains pertussis) is available for 11 year olds through adult here at the health department. If your high school age student, was a freshman in the last four years, and received their shot here at the health department, it would have been the Tdap immunization. Children under the age of 11 have already received their pertussis immunization (DTaP) with their infant/child immunizations before school age.
